I based these sketches after having looked at various locations such as “Ponte Vecchio” as inspirations.
It is a medieval bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy. It is known for still having shops being built on it. Most of the tenants now days are jewelers and art dealers, but in the olden days Butchers had initially occupied the shops. It must have been a completely different vibe walking by there back in the days!!!
Still to this day this bridge maintains it’s historical style which Giorgio Vasari had built. The architectual style that influenced some of my concepts. It is uncommon to see shops and houses on a bridge. “(a private aerial walkway built in 1561 so the Medici family could move between the Palazzo Pitti and the Palazzo Vecchio, safe from risk of assassination in the streets below)” (1)
